Biographical Sketch
I was born on May 10, 1981 in Basel, Switzerland.
I received the bachelor and master degrees (both summa cum laude) in Computer Science from the "Ca' Foscari" University of Venice respectively in 2003 and 2005, and the PhD degree in computer science in 2009.
My research interests are in the areas of Computer Vision, Pattern Recognition, Game and Graph Theory, Discrete and Continuous Optimization and Stochastic modelling. I am particularly interested in attacking computer vision and pattern recognition problems using theories and mathematical tools inherited from evolutionary game theory and graph theory. Moreover, I am interested in the interplay between continuous and combinatorial optimization problems. A few CV/PR problems I am currently working on are: image segmentation, perceptual grouping, shape representation and recognition, graph matching, similarity-based data clustering.
