ECOTURISM AND ITS PRINCIPALS

Ecotourism (eco-tourism, green tourism) is a new type of reasonable travel.
It aims to reduce the negative impact of humans on the environment while wandering in some countries.
Nowadays this kind of tourism is getting more popular.
Green tourism studies wildlife in the natural environment without causing a harm to nature.


The main objective of this type of tourism is the study of flora and fauna, environmental activities and volunteer projects, peace in places far from civilization.


The term "ecotourism" originates from sources dated 80’s of XX century.


Ecotourism is defined as "responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and improves the well-being of local people."


Ecotourism principles:

  • Environmental education of travelling and local inhabitants.
  • Assistance in Nature Conservation.
  • Minimum negative impact on the ecological side of nature and visited places.
  • Creating an environment in which nature could remain untouched.

  • Among the European countries that are developing ecological tours - Italy, Spain and France.
    Countries such as Africa, Asia and Latin America (Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Madagascar, Nepal, Mongolia, Laos, Costa Rica, Ecuador, etc.) are the leaders among the ecotourism.
