You are flying right above Venice (hope you enjoy it!):

San Servolo is the small (rectangular) island in the lower right corner: this is where ESA'98 takes place.
San Giorgio is the small (trapezoidal) island to the upper left of S. Servolo: some of the participants may stay here (San Giorgio guest quarters).
The main island is Venice istelf: the Grand Canal is the "2"-shaped canal which divides Venice in two.
If you draw a line from San Servolo to San Giorgio you intersect Venice in San Marco square (white area in the map) at one endpoint of the Grand Canal: most of the conference hotels are in this area.
The Santa Lucia train station and Piazzale Roma (where cars stop) are to your left at the other endpoint of the Grand Canal.

Please check the final program and the ACTV Web page for more information on the connection to San Servolo (boat n. 10) or San Giorgio (boat n. 82).
