The Sound of Eternity

Università Ca' Foscari Venezia

About

The Sound of Eternity is a project supported by the Ca' Foscari University involving the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage and the Department of Environmental Sciences, Informatics and Statistics. Its main goal is the creation of a digital critical edition and repository of ancient music, including a recently restored collection of choirbooks of the Duke's Chapel in St. Mark's church, Venice. The project aims also at building a working laboratory for experimenting digital technologies and advanced human-computer interaction techniques in the field of ancient music studies. One of the outcomes is an interactive digital reader for presenting and analyzing the choral books compared to the modern music notation.
