Travel Information
The conference will be held at the island of San Servolo, which is located in the Venetian lagoon, between the Venice city center and the island of Lido. It takes 10 minutes by boat (vaporetto) to reach Piazza San Marco, the heart of Venice, 30 minutes to reach the S. Lucia railway station, 30 minutes to reach the Piazzale Roma car parking, 20 minutes to reach the Venice International airport Marco Polo.(See also how to get San Servolo at VIU site).
By plane
There are several (water and land) services that run from
the Marco
Polo Internatioanl Airport of Venice to the center of the city.
Consider that all the land services stop in the Piazzale Roma car parking.
From the airport, you can take a water or land taxis (a
water taxi will bring you directly to your final destination).

public transportation, see the Alilaguna
waterbus service, or the ATVO blu bus
direct line.
By train
Venice has rail connections with every
major city in Italy and the rest of Europe.
The main railway station (Stazione
F.S. Venezia S. Lucia) is on the Grand Canal, in the northwest corner of the
city, and is very close to the Piazzale Roma car parking.
From the train station to San Servolo
There are several choices from the S. Lucia train
station of Venice to San Servolo.
You must take either the no. 1, no. 51 or no. 82 boat,
direction the "Lido", and stop in San Zaccaria (in front of the
Londra Palace Hotel). There
you must transfer to boat line no. 20.

From Piazzale Roma to San Servolo
There are several choices from the Piazzale
Roma car parking to San Servolo.
You must catch either the no. 1, no. 51, no. 41, no. 61 or
no. 82 boat (not bus!), direction the "Lido",
and stop in the San Zaccaria boat stop.
At San Zaccaria you must transfer to the boat no. 20.

The public boat no. 20 to San Servolo leaves
from the Riva degli Schiavoni at San Marco. The stop is in front of the Londra
Palace Hotel.

From the Lido to San Servolo
From the Lido (the long and narrow resort
island that separates the Venetian Lagoon from
the Adriatic Sea) to San Servolo you must take either boat line no. 52, no. 82,
no. 61 or no. 1.
Then stop in S. Marco (San Zaccaria bus stop), and transfer to the boat no. 20 to San
Servolo. The boat no. 20 leaves from the Riva degli Schiavoni, in
front of the Londra Palace Hotel.
